Literature Text

I hate the word sorry.
I utter it to fill in spaces.
It is hollow.
It reveals my dwindling self confidence.
It could be seen as an overt way to maintain attention.

I hate the word sorry.
I utter it to save face.
It is convenient.
It reveals how self serving I am.
It could be seen as a way to manipulate

I hate the word sorry.
I utter it because my heart hurts.
It is crushing.
It reveals how horrible I can be to those I love.
It could be seen as the ending to my worst moments.

Sorry, how do I really mean it?
Am I broken if I see so many ways?
I hate the word sorry.

This piece definitely caught my attention. I like how you repeat the line "I hate the word sorry" and then use that as the finishing line of the poem; it makes the poem more powerful.

The only thing I would improve upon is elaborating on why you hate the word sorry. You give us examples, but I feel like you are more so having a conversation with someone than writing a poem. Adding more metaphors, imagery, and symbolism can really help expand upon the theme of the poem and make the overall piece have a greater impact on the reader.

Other than that you have a good poem going for you. I hope this helps with your future works <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>
